Lucy Henshall is an artist and art director with Finnish/English roots, living and working in Amsterdam. Her work varies from watercolour paintings to graphic design, all sharing the same core attitude - a blend of feminism, progressive thinking and experimentation. Embracing both traditional techniques and a post internet aesthetic, Lucy’s work can be both refined and playful.

There is a sense of ‘otherworldliness’ at the Castello. There are all kinds of artworks hidden behind doors and corners, down windy corridors and up the tower. Being surprised becomes unsurprising and there is a magical feeling that comes from the dry and romantic landscapes. The Castello is a peaceful fortress full of sounds and smells, where one easily forgets about the outside world. For the website I wanted to include this ‘Alice in Wonderland’ feeling of fantasy and surprise, with the soft dusky gradients representing the colours of the landscape and the sky, capturing how far you can see into the distance from the tower of the Castello.
